Drive-Ins through out Australia
While an American invention, drive-in theaters became very popular in Australia starting in the 1950's. The first drive-in theater opened in Australia in 1954 and at one point, there were over 300 drive-ins opened throughout Australia. Australia had the third highest number of drive-ins of all countries behind only the United States and Canada. Currently, most have closed and there are only 16 remaining drive-in theaters still in operation in Australia. All remaining drive-ins in Australia are listed below.
