Deadpool & Wolverine Review

Deadpool & Wolverine is directed by Shawn Levy starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprising their roles as Deadpool and Wolverine respectively. After Levy's success directing Reynolds in films like Free Guy and The Adam Project, he picks up the mantle to become the director of the third Deadpool film.

The film is hilarious with fantastic action sequences. It takes Jackman's Wolverine and the multiverse concept shown in previous Marvel films and adds an interesting twist. This time the focus is on many of the characters from forgotten Marvel films that were previously not part of the MCU. Deadpool breaks the fourth wall by mentioning things like Marvel's recent struggles, the Fox-Marvel merger, and even Hugh Jackman's recent divorce.

The film is Marvel's best since 2021 Spider-Man No Way Home and Shang Chi, the biggest criticism is a common one for MCU films the villain. In this film, the villain is the twin sister of Charles Xavier (Professor X), but her lack of screentime, and vague motivations are a far cry from the best Marvel villains.

Despite those flaws, the film's action, comedy, and performances from the entire cast (including some surprise cameos) elevate the film and make it a must-watch at a drive-in near you.
