Twisters is a stand-alone sequel to the 1996 blockbuster Twister and stars Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Anthony Ramos. The film is directed by Lee Issac Chung who previously directed the Oscar-nominated film Minari.  The film follows Kate Carter (Jones) a former storm-chaser who is sucked back into the activity by her friend (Ramos) who wants help in testing a potential life-saving technology in the tornado-ridden Oklahoma. Along the way, they encounter rival storm chaser Tyler Owens (Powell) a social media star who chases storms for YouTube.

The film was fun with very good visual effects, solid performances, and likable characters. The three leads are well-matched and all give solid performances.  In the era of superhero films, films like Twisters do not get made as much as they used to. It's a sequel to a 90s film but a fresh action film on the recent landscape. Overall the film is fast-paced, exciting, and funny and worth seeing at a drive-in near you.
