Civil War is the latest film from director Alex Garland and stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, and Cailee Spaeney. The cast is rounded out by solid supporting performances from Stephen McKinley, Jesse Plemons, and Nick Offerman as the President of the United States.
The film's premise is that in the final days of a Civil War of vague origins within the United States, a group of reporters seek to interview the President. Offerman plays the President who due to the totalitarian actions of his regime and serving a third term in office has thrust the country into its second Civil War.
As the group of reporters travels across the country they undergo many trials and tribulations experiencing realizations about the future of this new America along the way.
This film was solidly directed by Garland and with some very good performances, interesting world-building and a fast-paced story made it one the better films of 2024 so far.
