About Bear Drive-in
The Bear Drive-in was a twin screen drive-in theater located in Bear, Delaware which is in the northern part of Delaware. In July of 2021, the developers of the Bear Drive-in announced they had obtained the projection equipment for two screens and had recently obtained all the necessary building permits to start construction of this new drive-in. The Bear Drive-in was built from the ground up with modern projection equipment and amenities. The Bear Drive-in is the only operating drive-in movie theater in the state of Delaware. Before the opening of the Bear Drive-in, the last drive-in in Delaware closed back in 2008. Normally, admission prices are $15 for adults, $11 for children and free for kids 4 and under. The ticket price includes a free large popcorn and 16oz drink as well. But on Wednesday, it is $30 per car. Please note that the Bear Drive-in does not allow pets to be brought to the drive-in. However, after operating just one season, the owner of the property on which the Bear Drive-in was located did not renew the lease for the drive-in as apparently they are developing the land for apartments. So the Bear Drive-in was forced to close but the owner says he is looking for a new spot to operate the drive-in. As of June of 2022, there have been no further updates on progress so we are showing the Bear Drive-in as "Closed". We will update this page if more information becomes available.
